Who says we can’t walk on Water today 2019?
I want us to take some time to read a little bit today
Matthew 14:22-33 The Passion Translation (TPT)
Jesus Walks on Water
22 As soon as the people were fed, Jesus told his disciples to get into their boat and to go to the other side of the lake while he stayed behind to dismiss the people.23 After the crowds dispersed, Jesus went up into the hills to pray. And as night fell he was there praying alone with God.
24 But the disciples, who were now in the middle of the lake, ran into trouble, for their boat was tossed about by the high winds and heavy seas.
25 At about four o’clock in the morning,[a] Jesus came to them, walking on the waves! 26 When the disciples saw him walking on top of the water, they were terrified and screamed, “A ghost!”
27 Then Jesus said, “Be brave and don’t be afraid. I am here!”[b]
28 Peter shouted out, “Lord, if it’s really you, then have me join you on the water!”
29 “Come and join me,”[c]Jesus replied.
So Peter stepped out onto the water and began to walk toward Jesus. 30 But when he realized how high the waves were, he became frightened and started to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he cried out.
31 Jesus immediately stretched out his hand and lifted him up and said, “What little faith you have! Why would you let doubt win?”
32 And the very moment they both stepped into the boat, the raging wind ceased.33 Then all the disciples crouched down before him and worshiped Jesus.[d] They said in adoration, “You are truly the Son of God!”
Today I was reminded of the story of Peter walking on water. Can you just imagine that?! Do you think Peter was even looking at anything else but Jesus??
The Goal is this verse Matthew 5:8–blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God, but it’s also the journey.
The main point that I believe everyone has been trying to grasp is this–we just NEED JESUS. He’s the one we should be like. He’s who we need. He MUST become everything in everything. ALL in ALL!
I wrote to one of my young disciples today and I said, “hey today go do a miracle and go walk on water.” Why is that impossible for us to imagine? Because many churches don’t teach a class on it, but all the knowledge you need is in God’s word! I’m not here to speak against classes. On the contrary, I know that they have the ability to equip any follower of Christ!
So how do the miracles happen? How do we go after those things? Because we want people to simply see Jesus. I heard Michael Kulianos say “Since when is it one or the other.” We should never have to choose between God’s presence and His miracles because they are all one in the same! I myself was a person saying I have to choose, but actually we need all of Jesus. If we get Jesus we get THE MIRACLE!
As I’m just spending time with my momma, I’m so in awe of her willingness to learn and soak everything in. I’m telling you my momma is the bravest ever because she’s the most obedient. She truly walks on water. Not that she hasn’t been fearful here and there, but her best friend is the Holy Spirit and one of the many things she’s taught me is this–you don’t need to help the Holy Spirit!!! He doesn’t need your help or your opinion on anything. Let Him be the leader and let us be great listeners!!!
These are the things that come flowing out when you’re in your Secret Garden. That is the best place to be!!!!
Just sit at Jesus’ feet today. Go ahead and take a hold of Him. Embrace Him in everything you do. My mom said anything you place above Jesus is where you lose it. You can meet a freind in the presence of Jesus, but they are just stewards of the Presence. It’s not the real thing. Come to the Bride Groom because THAT’S real and it’s who Jesus is. When you walk to Him just like the bride when she is looking to her Bride Groom as she walks down the aisle is just like Peter keeping His eyes on Jesus when they were on the water. Even Peter is the Bride Groom!!!
He knew Jesus was the one who had changed his life forever. We need to stay in His presence constantly and live everyday like we are walking down the aisle with our eyes fixed on HIM!
